New Jersey Wildfire Forces Parkway Closure, Prompts Evacuations

A 5,000-acre wildfire in New Jersey's Bass River State Forest led officials to close parts of the Garden State Parkway and evacuate campers.
The fire was 50% contained as of Friday morning and no longer threatening structures or homes.
Roughly 40 people were evacuated from a camping area, and the site remained closed.
The cause of the wildfire is unknown.
A separate 158-acre fire occurred earlier in the week with no injuries or damage reported.
