New Jersey Teacher Arrested for Sexual Abuse of Student and Having His Child

Laura Caron, a 34-year-old teacher, faces charges after allegedly grooming and assaulting a student who lived with her and fathered her child at age 13.

Laura Caron, a fifth-grade teacher in New Jersey, is accused of sexually abusing a student from the age of 11 and giving birth to his child when he was 13.
The alleged abuse occurred between 2016 and 2020 while the student and his siblings lived in Caron’s home, with their parents' initial consent.
Authorities were alerted after the victim’s father noticed a resemblance between Caron’s child and his son in a December 2024 Facebook post.
Caron has been charged with aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault, and endangering the welfare of a child, and faces a potential prison sentence of 10 to 20 years if convicted.
The Middle Township School District has placed Caron on paid administrative leave and is cooperating with the ongoing investigation.
