New Jersey Police Officer Shot During Domestic Violence Response

A New Jersey police officer was shot and wounded while responding to a domestic violence call in Hamilton Township late Friday night.
The incident occurred around 10 p.m. on Orchard Avenue, with a suspect opening fire on the officers, resulting in one officer and another unidentified individual being shot.
The injured officer was transported to Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton and is expected to survive.
The Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office and the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office are investigating the incident.
Neighbors reported hearing gunshots and witnessing the aftermath of the shooting.
