Authorities allege Vaquero targeted a disabled minor and mocked Jewish passengers while issuing threats shortly after takeoff.
The situation escalated when Vaquero banged on the cockpit door and demanded the pilot come out, leading to a confrontation six inches from the pilot's face.
Vaquero also shouted racial slurs and expletives at a flight attendant after being denied alcohol service during the flight.
He has been charged with interference with flight crew members, a federal offense carrying a potential 20-year prison sentence and a $250,000 fine.
