New Jersey Imam Shot and Killed Outside Mosque, Attacker Still at Large

Imam Hassan Sharif was shot and killed outside his mosque, Masjid Muhammad-Newark, in Newark, New Jersey, early on Wednesday morning.
The unknown attacker remains at large and a $25,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest.
Authorities have stated that they do not believe the killing was motivated by domestic terrorism or bias.
Sharif was a respected figure in the community, having served as a transportation security officer at Newark Liberty International Airport alongside his duties at the mosque.
Despite the lack of evidence pointing to a hate crime, the incident has heightened fears within the Muslim community amid a rise in bias incidents.
