Upon viewing the casket on February 17, the family was shocked to find an unrecognizable body dressed in Jenkins' clothes.
The family noted missing distinctive features on the body, such as a cauliflower ear and a foot infection, leading to doubts about its identity.
Despite assurances and photographic evidence from the funeral home, the family insisted on a mix-up, eventually confirming the correct body on February 18.
The Jenkins family filed a lawsuit on September 5, seeking a jury trial and damages for negligence and emotional distress.
