New Jalpaiguri Ticket Checking Unit Posts Record Rs 2.08 Crore in May
Northeast Frontier Railway credits intensified inspections for cutting ticketless travel, raising fare recovery.
Overview
- Northeast Frontier Railway reported that the New Jalpaiguri ticket checking section collected more than Rs 2.08 crore in May from ticket-checking operations.
- The section averaged over Rs 6.54 lakh a day and posted a peak single-day collection above Rs 9.65 lakh during the month.
- NFR attributed the result to sustained ticket-checking drives, strict enforcement and coordinated work by the NJP TTE and ticket-checking staff.
- General Manager Chetan Kumar Shrivastava and senior officials officially congratulated the NJP team and NFR presented the figure as a benchmark for other sections.
- NFR runs services across the Northeast and parts of West Bengal and north Bihar, and officials say the outcome could encourage similar enforcement drives to protect revenue across the zone.
