Overview
- State health officials say infectious individuals were at 1269 Café in Manchester from Jan. 1 to March 1, at the “Loads of Love” event at Wash Street Laundromat on Mondays and Thursdays 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. from Jan. 1 to July 17, and at the Hillsborough County Department of Corrections from April 16 to 25 and May 9 to Aug. 15.
- People without primary care can seek testing at the Manchester Health Department (1528 Elm St., 603-624-6466), the MHD Outreach Van at the Pearl Street Parking Lot on Wednesdays 9 a.m. to noon through Oct. 29, or the Nashua Division of Public Health (18 Mulberry St., 603-589-4512, Option 2).
- Deputy State Epidemiologist Dr. Elizabeth A. Talbot said the overall risk is low but screening is recommended for anyone who was at the listed locations because testing can prevent serious illness and further spread.
- DHHS is working with Manchester and Nashua health officials on contact tracing and warns that not everyone who was exposed at public venues may be identifiable.
- Officials say these are the second and third active cases in the Merrimack Valley since a March diagnosis that led to five latent infections, with New Hampshire averaging about 12 active TB cases annually.
