New Express Shipping Route Links China and Germany in Record 25 Days

The JadeWeserPort in Wilhelmshaven launches a direct container line to China's Ningbo, aiming to boost efficiency and expand its logistical role in Europe.

The first shipment on the China-Europe-Express (CEX) route arrived in Wilhelmshaven after a 25-day journey from Ningbo, a day ahead of schedule.
This direct route bypasses intermediate stops, reducing typical shipping times from 30-40 days to just 25 days, offering a unique service in Northern Europe.
The initial shipment included 1,700 containers, primarily carrying components for battery factories and auto plants in Europe, with plans to increase capacity to 5,000 containers per trip.
The JadeWeserPort, Germany's only deep-water container terminal, aims to leverage this service to establish itself as a key logistics hub with new rail links to cities like Budapest.
While the port has struggled with underutilization since its opening, officials view this new route as a potential turning point for its growth and relevance in global trade.
