New Disability Benefit Leads September Payouts for Canada Child Benefit, CPP/OAS and Provincial Credits

Indexation lifted child benefits 2.7% in July to raise payments through June 2026.

Overview

  • The Canada Disability Benefit begins third Thursday payments on Sept. 18 for eligible adults 18 to 64, with first deposits issued the month after approval and back pay available for up to 24 months from the application date, excluding any months before June 2025.
  • The Canada Child Benefit pays on Sept. 19, reflecting a 2.7% increase to $666 per month for each child under six and $562 for ages six to 17.
  • Provincial child top-ups deposit with the CCB on Sept. 19, including British Columbia's Family Benefit with CRA-listed amounts such as $145.83 for a first child and $91.66 for a second, and Ontario's Child Benefit up to $143.91 per child.
  • Ontario's Trillium Benefit arrives on Sept. 10, combining energy, property tax, northern energy and sales tax credits with maximums of $1,283 for ages 18 to 64 and $1,461 for those 65 and older.
  • Canada Pension Plan and Old Age Security payments land on Sept. 25, followed by Veterans Affairs disability pensions on Sept. 26, with new 65-year CPP beneficiaries averaging $899.67 and OAS maximums up to $800.44 for those 75 and over.
