Overview
- Starting July 26, Ceske drahy replaces Prague–Berlin services with Comfort-Jet trains that reach 230 km/h, add around 100 more seats and offer extra bicycle capacity.
- Eurocity pairs EC 378, EC 170 and EC 258 from Prague and EC 171, EC 379 and EC 259 from Berlin will continue carrying the traditional Czech dining cars.
- Retired dining cars will be redeployed on domestic routes across the Czech Republic instead of being scrapped.
- The fleet modernization is part of an EU-supported upgrade of cross-border day and night services in collaboration with ÖBB’s Nightjet.
- The plan balances faster, higher-capacity trains with the preservation of on-board Czech cuisine beloved by travelers.
