New Baltimore Liquor Board OKs 11 Restaurant Licenses, Launches Sheriff Enforcement Pact

The revamped panel signaled tougher oversight through a partnership with the Sheriff's Neighborhood Services Unit.

Overview

  • In its first hearing since a leadership shakeup, the Board of Liquor License Commissioners approved 11 licenses after hearing from more than 25 applicants.
  • Gov. Wes Moore removed most commissioners before the session, and Granville Templeton III was the lone reappointee and was selected as chair.
  • The board announced a tie-up with the Baltimore City Sheriff's Office Neighborhood Services Unit to increase accountability and address non-violent crime and nuisance activity linked to licensees.
  • Approved concepts include Seppia in Hampden, Bar Jinju in Fells Point from The Local Fry team, and Spice Kitchen West African Grill in Canton.
  • Openings will roll out as build-outs finish and permits clear, with Seppia targeting late 2025 or early 2026 and the long-running Thai Restaurant aiming for early 2026 in Abell, alongside approvals for Lime & Salt in Riverside, The Walker Sports Bar in Federal Hill, a new Charles North lounge, Vertice, and Tropical 95° Bar & Grill.
