Overview

• The Etias system will be similar to the US Esta, costing €7 and valid for three years or until passport expiry.
• The entry-exit system (EES) will launch on November 10, 2024, requiring biometric data from travelers.
• Etias will apply to travelers from 60 visa-exempt countries, including the UK, US, and Australia.
• A six-month transitional period will follow Etias' introduction, with full enforcement expected by November 2025.
• Travelers under 18 or over 70 are exempt from the €7 fee but must still apply for the permit.
