Nevada Grants GFL a Temporary One-Event License for 2027

The unanimous approval is a limited regulatory trial that still requires event permits, proof of funds, and confirmed dates before a show can proceed.

Overview

  • GFL announced on Oct. 21 that the Nevada State Athletic Commission approved a temporary one-event license described by commissioners as a “small” or “medium” trial for a 2027 event.
  • NAC executive director Jeff Mullen told the commission the license would not be valid until 2027 and that larger or recurring events would need additional licensure and possibly certified funds.
  • Nevada rules require a separate program permit that lists site, date, title fights and television partners, so the promoter-level approval does not itself clear any specific card.
  • GFL has not disclosed a show date, venue, bout lineup or the written terms of the Nevada approval, and MiddleEasy and other outlets say those conditions have not been independently verified.
  • The licence follows GFL’s failed 2025 launch, a Sept. LOI and nonrefundable deposit from entrepreneur Ryan Brockbank, and two recent fighter signings, leaving the relaunch contingent on funding, franchise deals and completed permits.
