Neuralink, Elon Musk's brain implant company, was fined by the U.S. Department of Transportation for violating rules on the movement and storage of hazardous materials.
The violation was discovered during inspections of Neuralink's facilities in Texas and California in February 2023.
The company was found to have improperly stored dangerous waste materials, including Xylene, a flammable liquid that can cause serious medical harm.
Neuralink paid a $2,480 fine for the violations after promising to get up to code.
The Department of Transport has since closed its investigation.
