Overview
- London Waterloo will have no trains calling on 27–28 December, with services terminating at Clapham Junction and a reduced timetable through 4 January; Queenstown Road is closed throughout and Vauxhall is shut 27–30 December and 1 January.
- The West Coast Main Line faces multiple blockades: no trains between Milton Keynes and Rugby from Christmas Day to 5 January for a junction replacement, Preston to Carlisle closed 31 December to 15 January for an M6 bridge renewal, and Carlisle to Lockerbie shut 1–7 January for signalling work.
- The Leeds–York corridor will be closed from Christmas Day, with some outlets reporting services resume on 2 January and others stating 26 January, highlighting a duration discrepancy passengers should verify before travel.
- Around Cambridge, no trains will run between Cambridge North, Cambridge, Bury St Edmunds and Stansted Airport from Christmas Day to 5 January, and separate works halt services between Stratford and Liverpool Street on 25 December and New Year’s Day.
- In Scotland there will be no trains between Dalmuir and Balloch/Helensburgh Central or between Crianlarich and Glasgow Queen Street from 24 December to 2 January, with Network Rail saying about 95% of the network remains open overall.
