Overview
- The demissionary cabinet has divided €2.5 billion under the Woningbouw en Mobiliteit program and about €877 million for area measures to accelerate delivery of roughly 273,000 homes.
- Utrecht’s Merwedelijn receives €562 million from the state and €160 million from the region, bringing about €1.8 billion in total available to progress the line toward Nieuwegein, with further funding and design choices still required for a future extension to Rijnenburg.
- Zuid-Holland secures roughly a quarter of the national allocations to enable about 30,000 homes, including major support for Cortelande in Zuidplas and initial funding near Eli Lilly’s planned site in Katwijk.
- Noord-Holland is awarded nearly €420 million across 14 projects to make about 37,500 homes buildable by 2034, while some requests such as Alkmaar’s mobility package were not funded and will be discussed further with the government.
- Gelderland receives €521 million to enable about 28,000 homes with investments like the Veluwelijn, the VeluweWaalpad and Spoorzone Arnhem-Oost, and Flevoland gains about €52 million for roads and links in Lelystad, Dronten, Noordoostpolder and Urk to support roughly 7,300 homes; area funds will also address grid capacity, soil remediation and relocations such as Sportpark Galecop in Nieuwegein.
