Steen's parents discovered the extent of his online friendships only after his death in 2014, realizing he had deeply impacted many lives through the game.
Directed by Benjamin Ree, the film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, winning the Audience Award in the World Cinema Documentary category.
The Remarkable Life of Ibelin will be available for streaming on Netflix starting October 25, 2024.
