The nation-versus-nation edition features 48 athletes on eight six-person teams representing Australia, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Mongolia, the Philippines, Thailand and Turkey.
Announced leaders include Manny Pacquiao for the Philippines, Robert Whittaker for Australia, Yushin Okami for Japan, Kim Jong-hyun for Korea and Muay Thai star Superbon for Thailand.
Team Korea’s lineup includes Olympic gold medalist Yun Sung-bin, Physical: 100 Season 2 winner Amotti, Jang Eun-sil, Choi Seung-yeon and ssireum champion Kim Min-jae alongside UFC veteran Kim Jong-hyun.
Netflix says the contests will test strength, strategy and teamwork while spotlighting heritage disciplines such as Korean ssireum, Mongolian wrestling, Turkish oil wrestling and muay Thai.
Additional recognizable names among the 48 include UFC’s Dong Hyun Kim on Team Korea and Bellator and PFL veteran Kana Watanabe on Team Japan, with the series debuting exclusively on Netflix in October.
