Overview

• Co-created and co-run by Mae Martin and Ryan Scott, Wayward marks Martin’s first major genre departure in an eight-episode blend of levity and horror.
• Martin stars as Alex Dempsey, a police officer who relocates to Tall Pines with his pregnant wife, Laura (Sarah Gadon), before unsettling mysteries emerge.
• Toni Collette portrays Evelyn Wade, the charismatic head of Tall Pines Academy whose authority hints at deeply rooted, sinister secrets.
• Two academy students, Abbie (Sydney Topliffe) and Leila (Alyvia Alyn Lind), attempt to escape the facility and collaborate with Alex to expose the town’s dark underbelly.
• Filmed near Toronto with a supporting ensemble including Brandon Jay McLaren, Patrick J. Adams and Byron Mann, the series draws on Martin’s personal experiences and influences from Fargo to Get Out.
