Overview

  • Volume 1 of Season 2 drops July 3 with six episodes, Volume 2 follows on July 24 with five more, and a bonus episode spotlighting Death arrives July 31.
  • The concluding season adapts major comic storylines including “Season of Mists,” “Brief Lives,” “The Kindly Ones” and “The Sandman: Overture,” along with select single-issue tales.
  • Allan Heinberg chose to omit the “A Game of You” arc to sharpen the focus on Dream’s journey and his relationships with the other Endless.
  • Netflix’s plan for a two-season run predated the allegations against Neil Gaiman, and the controversy ultimately solidified Season 2 as the show’s finale.
  • Tom Sturridge’s Dream faces impossible choices and confrontations in Hell, including a showdown with Gwendoline Christie’s Lucifer, as he seeks to atone for past misdeeds.
