Overview

  • Ṣọpẹ́ Dìrísù will portray Titus Crown, the first Black sheriff in Virginia’s Charon County, as he investigates a string of faith-driven murders targeting his community.
  • Joe Robert Cole, celebrated for his work on Black Panther and American Crime Story, is adapting all nine episodes and directing key installments while overseeing the series as showrunner.
  • Netflix officially greenlit the limited series at its May 2025 Upfront presentation in New York, and the project has now entered pre-production.
  • Higher Ground Productions, Amblin Television and author S.A. Cosby are attached as executive producers, extending Netflix’s ongoing partnership with the Obamas’ production company.
