Overview
- Season 2 will stream in two volumes with Episodes 1–6 premiering July 3 and Episodes 7–11 arriving July 24 on Netflix.
- A surprise 12th episode, titled “The Sandman Presents: Death: The High Cost of Living,” will debut July 31 and center on Death (Kirby Howell-Baptiste).
- The season brings to life key Neil Gaiman storylines including “Season of Mists,” “Brief Lives,” “The Kindly Ones,” “The Sandman: Overture” and single-issue tales like “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.”
- Showrunner Allan Heinberg says the decision to end after two seasons was made before the misconduct allegations against creator Neil Gaiman and reflects the scope of available comic material.
- Across the final chapters, Dream (Tom Sturridge) embarks on a redemption arc as he confronts the fallout of his past deeds in the Dreaming and the waking world.
