Overview
- Netflix began a limited rollout of the new AI Discover tab on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, to U.S. members who use Netflix in English on supported smart TVs.
- The first experience is theme-driven: users pick preset moods or situations such as “Something Light” or “Scare Me,” watch short clips, and receive real-time title recommendations that can be refined.
- Every recommended title includes a “Tune Your Recommendations” control so users can keep or block suggestions and the tool adapts to that feedback in real time.
- The feature is interactive but not a chatbot, will not appear on kids’ profiles, is built in-house and Netflix says feedback from the test will not be used to make programming decisions.
- Netflix frames AI Discover as a ‘test kitchen’ designed to boost discovery and watch time as the company experiments with new recommendation tech during a period of slower engagement and recent leadership changes.
