Overview
- Netflix released the first full official trailer on Monday, confirming David Fincher as director, Quentin Tarantino as screenwriter, and Brad Pitt reprising Cliff Booth.
- The trailer and expanded synopsis place the story in 1977, eight years after Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood, showing Booth working as a Hollywood fixer who bartends and acts as a projectionist.
- Netflix set a two‑week exclusive IMAX engagement beginning November 25, 2026, followed by a global Netflix debut on December 23, 2026, and Harper will publish Tarantino’s novel tie‑in, The Adventures of Cliff Booth, on December 8, 2026.
- The announced supporting cast includes Elizabeth Debicki, Scott Caan, Carla Gugino, Yahya Abdul‑Mateen II and Peter Weller, Timothy Olyphant will reprise James Stacy, and Leonardo DiCaprio is not returning as Rick Dalton.
- The project represents a high‑profile auteur handoff—Tarantino wrote but declined to direct—and Netflix’s IMAX‑first window and tied novel signal a push for theatrical prestige, awards visibility and expanded transmedia storytelling.
