Netflix Releases Trailer for Dystopian Drama 'The Kitchen'

Co-written and Directed by Daniel Kaluuya, the Film Explores Inequality in a Future London

  • Netflix has released the official trailer for 'The Kitchen', a dystopian drama set in 2044 London, co-written and directed by Daniel Kaluuya and Kibwe Tavares.
  • The film stars Kane Robinson and Jedaiah Bannerman, and explores themes of inequality, fatherhood, class, resilience, and defiance in a society where the gap between rich and poor has been stretched to its limits.
  • 'The Kitchen' is set in a future where all forms of social housing have been eradicated, and follows the struggles of Izi (Robinson), a resident trying to find a way out, and 12-year-old Benji (Bannerman), who has lost his mother and is searching for a family.
  • The film had its world premiere at the BFI London Film Festival in October and will premiere on Netflix on January 12, 2024.
  • Daniel Kaluuya, known for his roles in 'Black Panther' and 'Get Out', marks his directorial debut with 'The Kitchen'.
