Netflix Reality Star Spared Jail After Smuggling $190K Worth of Cannabis

Olga Bednarska, a 27-year-old Netflix reality star and influencer, was arrested in October 2024 for smuggling cannabis worth approximately $190,000 into the UK from Thailand.
Customs officials at Manchester Airport discovered 40kg of vacuum-sealed cannabis concealed in two suitcases Bednarska brought back from an all-expenses-paid trip to Thailand.
Bednarska initially claimed she packed the suitcases herself but later admitted they were given to her by an acquaintance named 'Tex,' who promised her £18,000 to transport designer goods.
The court heard that Bednarska, who had accumulated significant debt, agreed to the scheme as a way to address her financial struggles, despite having no prior criminal record.
She pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 20 months in prison, suspended for two years, along with 15 days of rehabilitation requirements, avoiding immediate jail time.
