An Indiana jury ruled Netflix violated a woman’s privacy by revealing her identity in the true crime film about fertility fraud.

Lori Kennard was awarded $385,000 after her name was shown without consent in Netflix's 2022 documentary 'Our Father.'
The documentary explores the case of Dr. Donald Cline, who secretly fathered 94 children through fraudulent fertility treatments.
Two other plaintiffs also sued Netflix; one was denied damages, and the other’s claims were dismissed before trial.
The jury found Netflix and Blumhouse Productions negligent but not malicious, limiting damages to compensatory rather than punitive.
Netflix blurred the names weeks after release, but the film had already been viewed by over 18 million people.
