Netflix, MVP Cancel Jake Paul–Gervonta Davis Exhibition After Lawsuit Allegations

Promoters pulled the Nov. 14 exhibition after reviewing a civil lawsuit accusing Davis of assault and kidnapping.

Overview

  • Most Valuable Promotions announced the Nov. 14 event at Miami’s Kaseya Center will not move forward and said ticket buyers will receive automatic Ticketmaster refunds within 14–21 days.
  • The decision followed a civil complaint filed Oct. 30 in Miami-Dade County by Courtney Rossel alleging battery, aggravated battery, false imprisonment, kidnapping and intentional infliction of emotional distress tied to an Oct. 27 incident at Tootsies.
  • MVP said it opened an internal review upon learning of the lawsuit, condemned violence, and confirmed plans for Jake Paul to headline a separate Netflix card in 2025 with details to be finalized.
  • Paul’s team explored replacements including Anthony Joshua, Terence Crawford, Ryan Garcia, Nate Diaz and Francis Ngannou, but broadcast contracts and scheduling limited options and Ngannou publicly declined on short notice.
  • No new opponent or date has been set, though discussions for a separate Paul headliner continue as organizers process refunds and unwind the canceled Miami card.
