Netflix Greenlights 'East of Eden' Series Adaptation Starring Florence Pugh

Zoe Kazan adapts John Steinbeck's novel into a seven-episode limited series, co-showrunning with Jeb Stuart.

Zoe Kazan, granddaughter of Elia Kazan who directed the 1955 film adaptation, will co-write and co-showrun the series.
Netflix's adaptation will focus on the multigenerational saga of the Trask family, highlighting the character Cathy Ames.
Fifth Season and Anonymous Content are co-producing the series, with Garth Davis and Laure de Clermont-Tonnerre directing.
The series has been in development since 2022 and is expected to premiere in 2025.
