Netflix Film Chief Scott Stuber to Exit, Start Own Media Company

Stuber, Who Led Netflix's Original Film Strategy, to Depart in March

Scott Stuber, Netflix's Chairman of Film, is leaving the company in March to start his own media company.
Stuber joined Netflix in 2017 and spearheaded the company's original film strategy, overseeing the acquisition, development, or production of Netflix’s biggest movies such as 'Red Notice', 'Bird Box', and 'Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery'.
Under Stuber's leadership, Netflix was the most nominated studio at the Academy Awards for three consecutive years (2020, 2021, 2022).
Stuber often clashed with Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos over strategy, pushing for wider theatrical releases than Sarandos was willing to undertake.
After Stuber's departure, Chief Content Officer Bela Bajaria will oversee the search for his replacement.
