Overview

• Netflix secured rights to a live-action adaptation of the 1990s animated eco-superhero series after a competitive auction and has launched development.
• Berlanti Productions, Appian Way and Warner Bros. Television are producing with Greg Berlanti, Leonardo DiCaprio, Sarah Schechter, Leigh London Redman and Jennifer Davisson serving as executive producers.
• Mrs. Davis co-creator Tara Hernandez has been tapped to write the adaptation and will also executive produce the series.
• Jono Matt, who co-wrote a previous Captain Planet feature attempt, joins as a producer while Glen Powell is not involved in the new project.
• The series remains in early development at Netflix with no cast or release date announced.
