Netflix Brings Party Games to TV With Phone Controllers

The rollout signals a pivot to social, low-friction play focused on casual genres in select markets.

Overview

  • Subscribers can now launch multiplayer party titles on their TVs from the Netflix app and use their phones as controllers by scanning a QR code.
  • Initial TV-ready games include LEGO Party!, Boggle Party, Party Crashers: Fool Your Friends, Pictionary: Game Night and Tetris Time Warp, with Dead Man’s Party: A Knives Out Game listed as coming soon.
  • The TV gaming feature runs via Netflix’s cloud infrastructure and is currently available only on supported devices in selected countries including the US, Canada and the UK.
  • Netflix also detailed new mobile offerings such as WWE 2K25: Netflix Edition, Netflix Puzzled and Best Guess Live hosted by Hunter March and Howie Mandel, with Best Guess Live offering real cash prizes in the US.
  • Red Dead Redemption is confirmed for mobile on Netflix, though a reported December 2 release date comes from a single outlet and has not been formally announced by Netflix or Rockstar.
