Netflix and Legendary Pictures Expand 'MonsterVerse' with Animated 'Skull Island' Series

Netflix is releasing an animated series called Skull Island set in the world of King Kong and the MonsterVerse.
The series follows a group of explorers stranded on Skull Island, the home of King Kong, who encounter prehistoric creatures.
Skull Island premieres on Netflix on June 22 and features voice performances by well-known actors like Nicolas Cantu, Mae Whitman, and Betty Gilpin.
Legendary Pictures, who has been producing the MonsterVerse franchise, is also creating an animated Tomb Raider series for Netflix.
The Skull Island series is meant to build upon the 2017 film Kong: Skull Island and tie into the MonsterVerse, though it may differ from the live-action films.
