Neral–Matheran Toy Train Returns Nov. 6 With Four Daily Services

Overview

  • Central Railway will restart full Neral–Matheran operations on November 6 after the routine June–October monsoon suspension.
  • Two departures from Neral are scheduled at 8:50 am and 10:25 am, with return services from Matheran at 2:45 pm and 4:00 pm.
  • Each train will run with six coaches, with the first services featuring a Vistadome coach and the second services offering a first-class coach alongside second-class and luggage vans.
  • Aman Lodge–Matheran shuttles continue with six trips each way on weekdays and eight on Saturdays and Sundays to support access beyond the road head.
  • The seasonal pause addresses landslide and track-damage risks on the 21-km hill line, a heritage railway opened in 1907 that is central to local tourism.
