Nepryaeva Misses Sprint Qualifying Again at Tour de Ski in Val di Fiemme

FIS permits neutral-status entries for Russian skiers following a CAS decision.

  • Darya Nepryaeva placed 41st in classic sprint qualifying over 1.6 km in Val di Fiemme with a time of 4:05.35, missing the top-30 cutoff for the heats.
  • In December she also failed to advance in the freestyle sprint qualifying at the Tour de Ski stop in Toblach.
  • The Val di Fiemme stage is part of the multiday Tour de Ski that is scheduled to conclude on January 4.
  • Only two Russian athletes have been cleared to compete internationally so far under neutral status: Nepryaeva and Saveliy Korostelov.
  • Saveliy Korostelov finished 31st in men’s classic sprint qualifying in Val di Fiemme at 3:25.64, falling 0.12 seconds short of the final qualifying spot.
