Overview
- Nepal restarted 40 MW exports on June 15 after Bangladesh opened a letter of credit to clear financial requirements
- The arrangement will deliver a total of 146.88 million units from mid-June to mid-November under the NEA-BPDB-NVVN agreement
- Export revenue is projected at Rs 129 crore over five months based on a fixed rate of 6.40 US cents per unit
- Power will flow from Nepal’s 400 kV Dhalkebar Substation through Muzaffarpur and Behrampur before reaching Bangladesh’s Bheramara grid
- Nepal has also boosted electricity sales to India’s Haryana region to 200 MW since June 1, expanding its regional energy cooperation
