• The return of ‘This Note’s For You’ highlights Young’s commitment to confronting corporate influence through his live set.
• He kicked off the encore by calling the Budweiser Stage the “Freshwater Amphitheater” and launching into the song’s opening lines that reject singing for Pepsi, Coke or Bud.
• Young performed with The Chrome Hearts, featuring bassist Corey McCormick, drummer Anthony LoGerfo, multi-instrumentalist Micah Nelson and organist Spooner Oldham.
• When released in 1988 the Julien Temple-directed video lampooned beer and soda ads, faced an MTV ban over trademark concerns and later won Video of the Year at the 1989 VMAs.
