NEET PG 2026 Begins Today With Tight Security and Strict Entry Rules

Biometric checks, CCTV and live monitoring are being used to protect the exam to deter leaks and reassure candidates.

Overview

  • The NEET PG exam, which runs Sunday, Aug 30, 2026, is scheduled from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM with centre registration opening at 7:00 AM and entry closing at 8:30 AM.
  • About 273,183 candidates are taking the single computer‑based shift across roughly 1,300 centres in 340 cities after NBEMS released admit cards on Aug 26.
  • Authorities deployed layered safeguards including Aadhaar biometric authentication with iris backup, CCTV, live regional and central command‑centre monitoring, signal jammers, dynamic computer allocation and more than 60,000 staff.
  • NBEMS issued a strict test‑day advisory banning phones, smartwatches, pens, notes, jewellery, bags and food, and set a simple dress code with medical exemptions allowed only with documents.
  • The exam uses a revised pattern of 180 multiple‑choice questions in 210 minutes with +4/‑1 scoring, NBEMS has warned candidates to report any paper‑leak claims to reportumc@natboard.edu.in and results are slated for Sept 30, 2026.
