Overview

• Since the Chin National Defence Force withdrew on July 11, 2,923 of 3,956 refugees at Zokhawthar have repatriated by July 17.
• In Champhai district, 435 of 744 refugees have returned to villages under Chin National Army control while 309 remain in Mizoram.
• Refugee returns began on July 7 and surged after a ceasefire agreement between rival Chin rebel groups took effect on July 12.
• The 510 km porous India–Myanmar frontier has remained calm following early July clashes sparked by an assault on Camp Rihli.
