Overview
- NDMC vice-chairman Kuljeet Singh Chahal laid the foundation stone to begin the Middle Lane upgrade on Saturday.
- The Phase-II package is budgeted at ₹1.21 crore with completion targeted by April 2026.
- Planned works include leather-finish granite flooring, integrated service ducts for civil and electrical utilities, a new 400mm drainage line with gully traps, a new water supply line, and replacement of manhole covers with stainless steel bins.
- Entry points will be built with M30 grade concrete alongside granite to boost durability and appearance.
- The initiative is tied to the Viksit Bharat-2047 vision, with parallel steps such as upgraded public toilets, mechanised night cleaning, and proposed parking and traffic improvements, plus about ₹25 lakh in additional works due by March 2026.
