NDMC Says 10-km Live Canvas With 35,000 Artists Sets New World Record in Delhi

Organisers linked the Kartavya Path painting to Sewa Pakhwada marking the prime minister’s birthday and did not cite independent verification of the record.

Overview

  • Held on Friday at Kartavya Path, the mass painting carried the theme ‘Viksit Bharat Ke Rang, Kala Ke Sang’ as part of Sewa Pakhwada.
  • The New Delhi Municipal Council organised the event with Triveni Kala Sangam and Delhi University.
  • NDMC officials said more than 35,000 artists and students produced a continuous 10-kilometre canvas.
  • Officials contrasted the effort with the 2014 benchmark of 5,084 simultaneous contributors set by Fundación Olga Sinclair in Panama.
  • Padma awardees joined the painting and were felicitated, and senior ministers with Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta attended, with Ashwini Vaishnaw describing similar activities nationwide.
