NDMC Ramps Up 24/7 Anti-Pollution Drive, Plans 30 Mist Spray Units for Shanti Path and Africa Avenue

Round-the-clock sweeping with anti-smog guns follows a citywide AQI reading of 346.

Overview

  • NDMC said manpower and machinery are now deployed round the clock across LutyensDelhi to suppress dust and reduce smog.
  • Four mechanical road sweepers clean about 220–230 km of roads daily, with five new CNG sweepers plus battery-operated and ride‑on units under procurement.
  • Eight mobile anti-smog guns cover 320–340 km of roads each day, 13 fixed units are installed on buildings, and seven more are being procured with tenders invited.
  • Fifteen mist spray units operate on Lodhi Road, and 30 additional systems are planned in two phases for Shanti Path and Africa Avenue, with 1,323 poles mapped for installation.
  • Nine pressure‑jet tankers are washing trees and footpaths, and night cleaning has begun in Connaught Place, Khan Market and Sarojini Nagar.
