NDMC Hosts Mizoram, Sri Lankan Delegations to Showcase Smart-City Model

Visits under formal training programmes highlighted replicable sanitation, RRR, ICCC systems, with delegates exploring local uptake.

Overview

  • On November 6, a 25-member Mizoram Secretariat Services Officers team held a Smart City interaction at NDMC in an IIPA-linked programme, where Secretary Rakesh Kumar outlined an integrated, citizen-centric approach.
  • On November 5, a 40-member Sri Lankan civil service delegation attended the 13th Capacity Building Programme on Urban Transformation with NCGG, led by a presentation from Chairperson Keshav Chandra.
  • NDMC demonstrated mechanised cleaning, night sweeping, scientific solid waste management with source segregation, the RRR model, e-waste disposal, community-led Anupam Colonies, green-cover expansion, and mist sprayers for air pollution.
  • Delegations toured the Integrated Command and Control Centre at Palika Kendra, which unifies real-time feeds from CCTV, air quality sensors, smart lighting, sanitation, and traffic, alongside e- and m-governance tools like the NDMC 311 app.
  • Both delegations praised NDMC’s model and expressed interest in adapting elements locally, with no formal adoption agreements announced.
