NDMC Doubles Off-Road and Indoor Parking Fees Under GRAP Stage-II

CAQM’s Stage-II activation on worsening air quality prompted a targeted hike at NDMC-run facilities to deter private car use.

Overview

  • Effective October 29, off-road and indoor parking now costs Rs 40 per hour for cars, Rs 20 for two-wheelers, and Rs 300 for buses at NDMC sites.
  • The increase remains in place until GRAP Stage-II is revoked and does not apply to on-street parking or to monthly pass holders.
  • NDMC says 102 of its 126 parking locations are affected, covering 99 off-road sites and three indoor or multi-level facilities.
  • CAQM enforced Stage-II after Delhi’s AQI rose to 302, with IMD and IITM forecasts indicating further deterioration.
  • Complementary transport curbs include limits on inter-state buses under Stage-II and a CAQM-announced November 1 ban on entry of non-BS-VI commercial goods vehicles into Delhi unless they run on BS-VI diesel, CNG, LNG or are EVs.
