NDMC Clears Civic Upgrade Package, Gives In-Principle Nod to Night Food Bazaar

  • The council approved resurfacing and reconstruction of 79 major roads for ₹89.75 crore in collaboration with CSIR-CRRI, including key stretches across Connaught Place and central government precincts.
  • Monsoon-readiness steps include a 5‑lakh‑litre sump at Purana Qila, a ₹13.10 crore robotic cleaning project for the Kushak and Ring Road drains, and round-the-clock emergency control and response teams.
  • To curb dust and vehicular pollution, automatic misting systems will be installed at 24 locations for about ₹15.29 crore, covering stretches such as Barakhamba Road, Copernicus Marg, Shahjahan Road, and Baba Kharak Singh Marg.
