Overview
- The Delhi Urban Art Commission has approved the 27-metre clock tower at Talkatora roundabout, which will feature a two-metre diameter clock face.
- The octagonal structure will be built with reinforced cement concrete and clad in clay bricks for a traditional aesthetic.
- Surrounding the base will be granite flooring, steel railings, and marble accents to create a polished public plaza.
- The Rs 1.3 crore project includes internal stair access and safety railings and is slated for completion by December 2025.
- Inspired by Prime Minister Modi’s Viksit Bharat @2047 vision, the tower aims to strengthen Lutyens’ Delhi’s identity and signal the gateway from Rajendra Nagar and Karol Bagh.
