Ndimande Brothers Drop Eswatini Extradition Appeal in AKA-Tibz Case

Officials say the withdrawal advances the Eswatini extradition process.

Overview

  • The National Directorate of Public Prosecutions confirmed receiving a notice of abandonment from Eswatini authorities, formalising the withdrawal of the appeal.
  • The Justice Department said Eswatini officials will manage the remaining procedural steps and provide updates to South African counterparts.
  • The brothers are expected to be returned to appear in the Durban High Court alongside other accused in the murders of Kiernan "AKA" Forbes and Tebello "Tibz" Motsoane.
  • Prosecutors have filed charges that include conspiracy to commit murder, murder, unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition, and contraventions of the Prevention of Organised Crime Act.
  • The men fled to Mbabane’s Mahhwalala township and were detained after South African authorities sought arrest warrants in February 2025.
