Overview
- After days of negotiations in Delhi and Patna, the alliance settled on a 101/101/29/6/6 split, marking the first BJP–JD(U) parity in Assembly seat allocation since 2005.
- The formula was made public via posts on X by senior figures including JD(U)’s Sanjay Kumar Jha and the BJP’s Vinod Tawde, with no joint press briefing.
- LJP(RV) landed 29 seats after initially seeking about 40, and reports said the BJP ceded some sitting constituencies to accommodate Chirag Paswan’s party.
- The smaller partners HAM(S) and RLM were allotted six seats each, with Jitan Ram Manjhi first saying he had no complaints and later warning his party felt undervalued.
- The first NDA candidate list is expected on October 13 as phase-one nominations close October 17, while the opposition bloc continues seat talks before voting on November 6 and 11 and counting on November 14.
