NDA Nears Seat-Sharing Deal in Bihar as BJP Rolls Out 45-Member Campaign Push

Alliance math is converging ahead of the final voter roll publication.

Overview

  • Sources say the NDA formula under discussion would allot about 102 seats to JD(U), 101 to BJP and roughly 22 to LJP(RV), with a formal announcement expected soon after Dharmendra Pradhan’s meeting with Nitish Kumar.
  • The BJP has constituted a 45-member state election campaign committee and has deployed 45 ‘special’ leaders from other states, each tasked with one Lok Sabha constituency to drive booth-level coordination.
  • Union home minister Amit Shah set a target of 160-plus seats for the NDA and framed the campaign around ‘Mahila, Modi, Mandir,’ asking cadres to defend the EC’s Special Intensive Revision and to escalate village outreach.
  • On the opposition side, Mahagathbandhan talks are in the final stage, with indications RJD may contest around 130 seats and Congress about 58, while VIP could get near 14 and Left parties seek expanded shares.
  • The Election Commission is expected to publish the final electoral roll on September 30 and visit Patna in early October to review preparedness, with Bihar’s assembly term ending on November 22.
